If you hadn't heard the news, Microsoft recently
announced that their www.ListBot.com service is being
discontinued as of August. [ListBot is a free service
offering delivery for both discussion lists and
newsletters.] Microsoft has encouraged those using the
service to upgrade to their paid ListBuilder.com
service.
According to various sources, there are somewhere
between 50,000 and 75,000 publishers who are currently
using ListBot. That means a good number of publishers
are currently - or will soon be - looking for a new
way to deliver their list messages.
We've discovered that every time a free service has
discontinued in the past, we will gain between 1 and
5% of the defunct company's business just by publishers
actively seeking a replacement host.
As an affiliate of the ListChannel Network, this
represents a substantial opportunity for you. It is
conceivable that with a bit of work, you could refer
a dozen or more publishers - receiving referral fees,
residual income and second tier commissions on those
who become affiliates.
I spent a good deal of time discussing the possibilities
with Bob Cortez, our Affiliate Program Manager. We also
solicited feedback from some of our affiliates as well.
We know that our ListChannel publishers solution
service stands well enough on its own, but we wanted to
give special encouragement to ListBot publishers to
switch to our service. We also wanted to offer you,
as an affiliate extra financial compensation to help
spread the word.
Here's what we've come up with:
FREE STARTER PACKAGE FOR LISTBOT PUBLISHERS
We've put online a special sales page for ListBot
publishers. If they pay for one quarter or one year
of service, their starter package will be free.
That means that for $89, ListBot publishers will
have 4 months of service OR for $299, they can
have 13 months of service. This will allow them to
send up to 50,000 messages a month. They can upgrade
to send more messages at the rate of $1.00 per 1,000
additional messages. They can also set up 1 or 2
lists (to allow for separate text and HTML newsletters)
This is a $79 value for ListBot publishers!
YOU STILL GET PAID ON LISTBOT STARTER PACKAGES!
We want you to get the word out to your contacts about
this special promotion, so we're sweetening the pot.
Even though ListBot publishers will not be charged for
the $79 starter package, YOU will still receive first
and second tier commissions as if they had paid it!
If you do the math, with our compensation program,
that means we will be paying out up to 75% on every
dollar we get in some cases!
We are prepared to do this because we know that once
people try our service they will stay with it. That
means more residual income for you in renewal fees
and other purchases!

To further sweeten the pot and give you extra
motivation, we're also offering some exciting cash
bonuses based on activity from June 22 to midnight
Eastern on July 31, 2001.
Some of these bonuses will be awarded to the top
performing affiliate in each category. Others will
be awarded to affiliates who meet certain objectives.
Plus, if you have second tier affiliates who earn
bonuses, you will get 50% of their bonuses!
ListBot Referrals - $250.00 and $100.00
The Affiliate who refers the greatest number of
ListBot Publishers to our service will receive a
$250.00 cash bonus.
Any Affiliates who refer 10 or more ListBot
Publishers will receive a $100.00 cash bonus.
Top ListChannel Publishers Solution Referrals
- $500.00
The Affiliate who refers the greatest number of
Publishers to our service will receive a $500.00
cash bonus.
Top Second Tier Results - $250.00 and 50% Bonus
The Affiliate with the greatest number of *active*
second tier affiliates will receive a $250.00 cash
bonus.
Any Affiliates who have second tier affiliates
who receive one of the above bonuses will get a
50% matching bonus.
Since our Affiliate Program and service are new,
this means that any of you can win these bonuses!
It's truly a level playing field and we'll provide
you with the support and tools you need to make it
happen.
Terms for Bonuses:
* The winner of the ListBot referral prize must
have a minimum of 3 ListBot referrals in total.
* The winner of the general ListChannel referral
prize must have a minimum of 5 referrals in
total.
* An active affiliate for the purpose of the Second
Tier prize is considered to be any affiliate who
has one or more referred customers.
* To count as a referral, payment must be received
by the publisher no later than August 15th, 2001.
* If there are any problems with payment remitted by
a publisher, it may affect the outcome of the final
winners.
On a regular basis, we'll be posting the contest
standings so you can see how you are doing. The
unofficial winners of bonuses will be announced on
or about August 6, 2001. Official winners will be
formally confirmed late August and bonuses will
be added to August affiliate checks (paid in
September).
We hope you're excited about these promotions and

at you soon with our regular Affiliate newsletter
in which he'll give you some ideas on how you can
promote this. We are also working on a number of
special promotional tools for you that we'll
announce in the coming days.
Meanwhile, one thing you can do is start putting
together your lists. Make a list of:
* The newsletters or list you subscribe to that
are distributed using ListBot.
* People who might be in prime position to
capitalize on our special bonuses.
* Go to web sites you are familiar with and see
if they are using ListBot for their list
delivery.
* The discussion lists you are subscribed to
where you may be able to post information
about our special for ListBot publishers.
